Job interviews can be the worst. The worst.
The worst one for me in the media industry years ago went pretty much like this:
It was the early days of the spread of social media and at one point the interviewers asked me what websites I liked to read.
My mind went kind of blank. Despite being a news junkie and info freako I’d begun to heavily source news from the likes of Twitter and it was at that exact moment, in that interview, when I realised online news mastheads brands were in decline (“I read it on Twitter/Facebook”).
Why only read just a few specific publications when you can now read everything?
(Not getting the gig was all for the best though. It wasn’t ‘a good fit’ *ugh* for both parties and was ‘a good learning experience’ *ugh* as they write in the self-improvement classics.)
